〔事 例〕
Ａさん（50歳、男性、障害支援区分4）は、1年前の交通事故の後遺症で、右片麻痺、高次脳機能障害（higher brain dysfunction）、失語症（aphasia）となった。現在は障害者支援施設で生活している。日中は、車いすに座って過ごしているが、すぐに右肩が下がり上半身は右へ傾いた姿勢になる。ある日、Ｂ介護福祉職がＡさんに姿勢の傾きを直す方法を伝えようとすると、Ａさんは大声でどなり、物を投げた。Ｂ介護福祉職は、以前からＡさんとのコミュニケーションに悩んでいたため、Ｃ介護主任に相談することにした。Ｃ介護主任の問いかけに答えるなかで、Ｂ介護福祉職は自分自身の言動を振り返ることができ、Ａさんに伝わらない焦りと、子どもに言い聞かせるような口調が、Ａさんの感情を害していたことに気づいた。その後、コミュニケーション方法を工夫し、Ａさんに姿勢の傾きを直す方法を説明し、同意を得ることができた。
